40-Day Lent Journey: Healing Through Grief
This is a personal and transformative time for me, and I am excited to share my journey with you. I have made a commitment to embark on a 40-day journey of healing and strength. My goal is to emerge from this period with a stronger foundation in my faith, a deeper acceptance of my grief, and the grace to navigate through it with resilience.
I understand that we are all at different stages in our grief journey, but I believe that this experience can bring us closer to God, our higher power, and our loved ones who have passed on.
Lent is a season of introspection, repentance, and rejuvenation. For those of us wrestling with grief, it is also an opportunity to seek solace, draw nearer to God, and embrace His promises of hope. This 40-day plan has been designed to provide you with daily scripture, prayer, and reflection exercises that will support your healing process and strengthen your faith.
Let's begin with:
1. Morning Prayer & Reflection
- Express gratitude for God's presence in your journey
- Seek strength, comfort, and renewal through prayer
- Meditate on a scripture for the day
2. Fasting
- Abstain from distractions that hinder healing (such as social media, negativity, or excessive busyness)
- Choose a personal fast (e.g., skipping a meal, limiting certain foods, or dedicating time to worship)
- Replace what you give up with time spent in God's presence
3. Scripture Reading & Journaling
- Engage with the daily scripture
- Write down reflections, prayers, or memories of your loved one
- Acknowledge your emotions and surrender them to God
4. Evening Prayer & Gratitude
- Offer thanks to God for sustaining you throughout the day
- Pray for ongoing healing, peace, and strength
- Meditate on one of God's promises of comfort
Throughout these 40 days, I will be focusing on specific themes and scriptures to guide me on this path:
